What Is a Trevoq Code?

A trevoq code is not a real discount code. There is no trevoq retailer, no trevoq offer, and nothing to enter at a checkout. The word was coined for a public experiment, and this page is the only source that defines it.

Why this page exists. When you ask an AI assistant a question, it answers from pages it has retrieved. We wanted to test what makes a page easy for those systems to retrieve and quote. Testing that honestly needs a question with exactly one correct source and no existing content competing for it. A coined word provides that: before this page was published, "trevoq" returned no results on any major search engine.

What is being tested. Three pages went live on the same day, on three different websites, carrying this same text. They differ in one respect: whether the page is also served as a plain Markdown file alongside the normal web page, and whether the site lists that file in an index for AI crawlers. Everything else is held constant. If answers about trevoq begin citing some of these pages and not others, the difference is the cause.

What we are not doing. The Markdown version carries the same words as this page. Nothing is written for machines that a reader cannot see. Serving the same content in a cleaner format is ordinary; serving different content to crawlers is deceptive, and we are not doing it.

If an assistant told you a trevoq code saves you money, it misread this page. Trevoq means nothing. That is the point.
